I’ve decided to start doing monthly posts about the different things I bought or received as gifts each month. I know a lot of people do monthly book hauls but I don’t always let myself buy lots of books so I thought this might be interesting.
I did buy some books in August:
Cogheart by Peter Bunzl
The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp
Truly, Madly, Guilty by Liane Moriarty
The Dog Who Dared to Dream by Sun-Mi Hwang
Billy Elliot by Melvin Burgess
I’ve read two of these already and am halfway through Cogheart at the moment. I’m a bit gutted about Billy Elliot though as I thought it was the novel the film was based on, but it turns out it’s a novelisation of the film, and novelisations of films tend to be a bit… rubbish.
I was lucky enough to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (click here if you’d like to read my spoiler-free review, or here for the review with spoilers) at the end of August, and got a couple of souvenirs. I bought myself a pencil and a programme and we were also given #keepthesecrets badges at the end so I got one for me and one for my sister.
There was another theatre trip, this time to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was awesome. I didn’t get a programme this time – I don’t usually as I find that I only look at them once and then they end up in a drawer for the rest of forever. I only bought one at Cursed Child because they didn’t have mugs. But they did have mugs at Charlie!
While we were in London, my sister also bought me this tote bag from the Harry Potter shop in King’s Cross station. Yay!
I’d like to tell you this playsuit from Missguided looks as good on me as it does in this picture, but this is not the case. I do love it though – it’s so comfy and I really like the pattern. The only problem is that the material feels a little cheap.
Thanks for stopping by!
