  1. I agree with you 100%. It is a fun, easy read, very enjoyable. I had this same argument with my father-in-law when I read it. He is a devout Christian, and he was offended by the book. I said “It is a novel, it is fiction,” but he kept saying that Brown claimed it was factual. (He never actually read it). Great review!

  2. Thanks for this blog. I did give this one a go and while it entertained, I didn’t like how he moved prominent things like architecture of a famous building around for the sake of the story. I have been to the Louvre, for example, and every time he changed a fact to further the story I got thrown out of the plot and annoyed. But that’s just my pet peeve I guess. It wasn’t a favorite book by any means. I did read his other book set in Rome and it entertained me.
Also I liked the editing of the first section though personally I would have kept the word Caravaggio! I like this alphabet thing. Fun.

    1. I haven’t been to the Louvre myself so didn’t notice, but I can definitely understand why that would hinder your enjoyment of the story. (I’d love to go.) There are definitely some inaccuracies throughout the novel. Angels and Demons was great! I found it harder to get into than this one but a more well-written book in the end x

  3. Yesssss, great post! 👏😄 I read this two years ago and I admit that I found it hard to read sometimes because of the writing style. That aside, the story and plot is so gripping and thrilling it was an amazing read. I agree with you with the controversy, I am a proud Christian but I’m open-minded and I don’t believe everything I read— I understand that this book is a work of fiction.

  4. I actually really like his writing style, I think it fits the genre perfectly, and I love the opening scene. What I can’t stand about his books is the female characters – a bunch of girls with no personality whatsoever who all end up falling for the professor and serve as nothing but sidekicks.

      1. Honestly I don’t even know the names of the girls because they’re ALL THE SAME. Also I haven’t read Inferno yet haha.

      2. My favourite of his books is honestly Deception Point. It’s the first of his that I read and one of first books I read in English. I think I love it so much because I love anything to do with exploration in the ice and stuff. It’s such a good book! The one I like the least is probably The Lost Symbol. I don’t even remember what it’s about lmao.

  5. Not gonna read this yet because I’m still reading the book but so far I LOVE this book! I think it’s written really well and I find it utterly interesting! I don’t think it’s disrespectful, I think it’s enlightening!

I’ve read Digital Fortress and love it! Will read this post after I read the book!
