You probably didn’t even notice I’d gone, but I’ve been inactive on my blog for the last few days as I’ve been moving into a new flat! Yaaaaay!
We are now officially moved in and the living room is nearly just how I’d like it. It came with some lovely shelves built in so obviously my first thought was to put books on display.
I’m fairly happy with these shelves. I like the top shelf best, which houses the books I’ve already read (since it’s a bit high and I’m only 5ft) and some of my other half’s whisky, just because. It could do with a funko in front of that HP illustrated edition, methinks!
The bottom shelf is OK in how it’s laid out but I’d like those books that are different sizes to look neater, so they might get moved. I also think this could be a rainbow shelf…
My boyfriend isn’t a reader but he does own a lot of these coffee-table books about wildlife, so he put those on display with his Game of Thrones books. The books on the bottom right are some of my all-time favourites (One Day by David Nicholls, Wonder by R. J. Palacio, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne). Next to those, I have my Penguin Modern Classics since they all match.
I have my prettier books on a shelf in the dining room but have forgotten to take a photo of those – oops!
I’ll be quiet on here for a week or so as our internet isn’t being set up until 18th April. I’ll try to post when I can, though. Thanks for stopping by!
