Today I’m doing the Burn, Rewrite or Reread Book Tag. I was tagged by icebreaker694, whom you should definitely visit and follow!
I also only condone virtual book-burning. No books were harmed in the making of this blog post.
- Choose 3 books. (Most people have been using the ‘random’ option on Goodreads so I’ll be doing that too.)
- For each group of books, choose a book to burn, to rewrite, and to reread.
- Repeat until you completed three rounds (I did 5 because I got too excited).
But – but I enjoyed all three of these books! Eurgh… in the spirit of the challenge, I must:
Burn: Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
Rewrite: Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Reread: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
I always sound as if I despise The Fault in Our Stars, but actually I quite enjoyed it. I just think it’s massively overrated and it didn’t make me emotional at all. However, I enjoyed it more than these other two, so…
Burn: The Illusionists by Rosie Thomas
Rewrite: The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
Reread: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
No contest here! Although I love Stephen King, Salem’s Lot was disappointing. Pollyanna was dull, but Good Omens was amazing and I’m planning on rereading soon.
Burn: Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter
Rewrite: Salem’s Lot by Stephen King
Reread: Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
A royal-themed selection here – completely by accident, I promise. I disliked Red Queen, although I think it could have been good after a rewrite. However, it’s not getting one because Philippa Gregory is my bae ❤
Burn: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Rewrite: The Kingmaker’s Daughter by Philippa Gregory
Reread: The King’s Curse by Philippa Gregory
Noooo I don’t want to burn any of these! Well, We Were Liars is definitely my least-favourite. I finished it feeling a little dissatisfied, so I guess I’ll have to burn it D’: I definitely don’t want to rewrite What Alice Forgot because I love it! However, I feel like it’d be sacrilege to rewrite George Orwell.
Burn: We Were Liars by e. lockhart
Rewrite: What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
Reread: Animal Farm by George Orwell
