I heard about this tag a little while ago but for some reason it’s taken me ages to get around to it! However, I just saw it on Pomegranatecatbooks‘ blog and it inspired me to do it.
1. What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?
Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell. This is only 60 pages long and I enjoyed every word! She wrote this for World Book Day 2016.
2. What are you currently reading?
Nothing at the moment – I’ve just finished two books today so I’m a bit unsure what to start next. I’m torn between The Taming of the Queen by Philippa Gregory or Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. These are two very different books: the former is historical fiction and details Kateryn Parr’s marriage to Henry VIII; the latter, as you probably already know, is a YA fantasy novel based on the Simon Snow series from Rowell’s earlier book, Fangirl.
3. What was the last book you marked as ‘TBR’?
Cinder by Marissa Meyer.
4. What book do you plan to read next?
Ooh, I’ve already answered this question by accident! See my answer to Question 2.
5. Do you use the star rating system?
I do but I wish I could give half-stars. Often I feel that 3 stars makes it seem like I didn’t really enjoy the book when I did, but 4 stars makes it seem like I was mad on it when I wasn’t.
6. Are you doing a 2016 Reading Challenge?
I’ve challenged myself to read 100 books this year.
7. Do you have a wish list?
I have a wish-list in my head but not an official one on Goodreads!
8. What book do you plan to buy next?
AAARGH I’M NOT ALLOWED TO BUY ANY MORE BOOKS. I have to finish some that I actually own first. (But you can get LOADS of Philippa Gregory paperbacks on thebookpeople.co.uk and I am so getting those when I’m allowed to buy books again.)
9. Do you have any favourite quotes, would you like to share a few?
The one that immediately jumps to mind is from To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee:
Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing.
10. Who are your favourite authors?
Willy Russell (more of a playwright), J. K. Rowling, Philippa Gregory, Rainbow Rowell, Harper Lee, Rick Riordan…
11. Have you joined any groups?
I did join Emma Watson’s feminist book group, Our Shared Shelf, but I found the notifications very annoying so I’ve come out of it now. I just never felt any need to join in the conversations so it was kind of pointless me being a member.
12. Are there any questions you would like to add?
Nope. I’m OK, thanks. 😀
